Transport Ministry vows not to allow any more airport closure

BANGKOK, 14 March 2010 (NNT) - Ministry of Transport vows not to led the protesters of the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship(UDD) seize the Airport.
Permanent Secretary for Transport , Supoj Saplom, said the ministry had assigned security officers to guard Suvarnabhumi Airport and all transferring points.
As of today,officials of the Transport Ministry were allowed a day off as the ministry office is situated in the protest area. He stated the situation will be closely monitored day-by-day.
Transport Ministry has considered the relocation of staff to the Department of Highways or the Department of Land Transport. The important working sectors such as management, budget or international relations might need to work at the offices during the rally, while those with less important tasks can work from home.
